Peter turned to look at the old abandoned building on the coast, the waves spilling up onto the stone steps leading up to the broken sliding glass doors that lead into the vine-covered structure. Nodding to his friend, he gestured over the rocks along the shore. "There it is! The abandoned tidal power plant we heard about. You ready to head on in?"

James returned his nod, grinning. "You have any idea where the Thunderstones are supposed to be?" Waiting a moment, he shook his head. "Ahh... It doesn't matter. Let's head on in!"

"I guess they'd have to be pretty deep inside. I wonder if we'll find anything else. We might find an Ampharos around here for all we know!" Peter grinned. "Good thing I stocked up on Ultra Balls just in case they were needed."

"Good thing you thought ahead." James smiled back to his friend. "Well we're wasting time standing around here, so let's get our butts in gear!"

The pair started quickly hiking through the tide, scrabbling up the rocks and the worn-away stairs, climbing up into the rickety structure. James swept away a handful of the cobwebs laced throughout the entryway, suddenly yanking back his hand in surprise. "Gah! It shocked me!" He yelped in fright, jumping back. "Peter... Do you have any sort of rubber gloves or something so we can get through?"

"Yeah, I got some." He said, pulling a couple of pairs from his backpack, handing a pair to his friend. "Just try to be careful around here - I guess if there are electrified cobwebs, there's got to be some Joltik or Galvantula in the area."

"Yeah, makes sense in a place like this. Guess we'll just have to be on our guard." James nodded as he slipped his gloves over his hands.

Crouching down, he swept the cobwebs away carefully, slipping through the doorway while disturbing as few of the cobwebs as possible. "If there are those sorts of Pokémon living here, we'd best do our best to make 'em mad... Let's be quick and disturb as little as possible, alright?"

As he held the webs aside, Peter slipped through, nodding in agreement. "We don't want to disturb their home at all. Let's be quick." He glanced about, before gesturing at the stairs over in the corner. "Basement's a good place to start looking, don't you think?"

"Yup. We'll work our way from the ground up, and hopefully we'll be able to find some useful items." He smirked. "Besides, if there is an overabundance of Electric Pokémon, we might as well catch a few of them - really power up our team!"

"I'm liking that idea!" James laughed as they opened the door, dust flying off from the walls as they made their way down the dark steps, Peter's torch the only source of illumination.

As the two slowly stepped of the staircase, James glanced about, carefully avoiding the webs strewn about the room. looking at the dirt behind the crumbling brick of the basement walls. "It's no wonder that there are Joltik here, he whispered. Look at the walls! They're practically studded with Bug and Electric gems!"

"Not too bad..." Peter chuckled to himself. "We might be able to take some of these to sell to others, or even use some ourselves..." He observed the gems, the light from the torch shining right through them. "I wonder what else we're going to find around here?"

"Thunderstones, I would hope." James glanced through the doorways in the basement. "You have a spare light? Or did you just bring the one?" He strained his eyes, trying to see into the adjoining rooms. "I think it'd be faster to look if we split up a little."

"You crazy?" Peter chuckled. "Splitting up in an abandoned old building like this... Haven't you ever seen any horror films? I think it'd be best if we stuck together."

"Suit yourself. Shine the light this way, then." James beckoned, "I think I see something."

"As you wish." He said, turning to face his friend as he shone the torch towards his friend.

James gulped deeply, and quickly blocked the light as a set of glimmering teal eyes glanced back. "Guess we're not going in that room... Let's hurry before it gets upset at us, okay?"

"Yeah, we've got all of upstairs and that to check out anyway. But before we go, we might as well help ourselves to some of these at the least." He said, starting to pick some of the Bug and Electric gems out of the webbing carefully, putting them in his backpack.

Nodding, James reached forward, but suddenly lurched back as the lights in the basement sprung to life. "Gah! What the?" Jumping back, his words were drowned out by the sounds of the generators upstairs lurching to life. As the ceiling began to shake and dust wafted, down, he yelped in alarm. "I-I think we'd best get out of here... I don't think that the building's going to take this!"

"How in the hell?" Peter gasped, watching the lights flickering as the whirring grew louder and louder. "Either someone else is in here, or one of the Electric Pokémon must have set something off! We better make a move!" He said as he began to run, leaving the other gems in case the place started to collapse around them.

Gasping in fright, James bolted for the stairs, cursing as dirt and brick tumbled down, blocking easy retreat. "C'Mon, Peter, we've got to get- Ah!" With a cry of dismay, the walls tumbled in around them, spilling dirt and gemstones all around them as lose wiring sent energy coursing through the conductive crystal. The tremors lasted only a moment longer, though, before stopping, the lights slowly flickering back off.

"James...are you ok?" He asked, reaching for his torch once again as he saw that some of the gems had been knocked from the walls and webs, as had some of the floor above them. "Maybe we should re-think our plan of searching this place - it might not hold up much longer!"

"Yeah, I'm with you." James said, staggering back to his feet as they made their way back towards the doorway.

Staggering toward the door, they managed to make their way up through the rubble to the surface. The pair paused to catch their breath as they emerged, James gulping in deep lungfuls of air as he looked back down at the piles of dirt and gems down below. "Maybe.... Maybe we can prevent the trip from being a total loss. It should be safe grabbing some of those gems down there. What do you think?"

"We might as well - they won't be too much use to us, but we can always sell them" Peter smirked, putting his bag down for a moment so that the two of them could put some of the gems inside. "Who knows, there may be a stray Thunderstone or two among the rubble!"

"Yep! That'd be a nice find! We can always hope!" As James kelt down by the stones, the low hum of the power plant began to flow back to life. "Careful... We don't want to get caught in another- Augh!" James cried out in alarm as energy jolted through the gemstones, arcing through the air and over toward the pair, crackling yellow and pale green as it flowed through the Electric and Bug gems.

"GAH!!" Peter yelped as he staggered backwards, falling over as he looked at the gems. "What in the name of Arceus was that all about?" He groaned, trying to get back to his feet as he looked at James.

"Whatever that was, it was somewhat painful." He moaned, trying to shake off the shock as he looked down at Peter, helping him back up.

With a wince, the pair stood, James looking at his friend with concern. "Oh... Your arm! That looks bad...." He winced as he looked at the black marks running along his arms, as he looked with growing frightened fascination as his skin slowly changed color, toward a pale yellow shade. "Uhh.... Peter? Are you okay? That doesn't look good..."

"What do you mean, it's just a bruise, isn't it?" He asked, looking as his arm changed color. As it did, he noticed that thick yellow hair was beginning to grow up and down his arms, travelling up the sleeves of his shirt as they did so. "What on earth?" He gulped.

"I...I don't know what's going on...was it caused by all these gems?" James asked, looking at the still glowing crystals.

"I-I don't... Maybe? Maybe it was the power plant itself, or.... We need to get treatment!" Looking up at James's face, he suddenly doubted his words. It didn't hurt, or feel unpleasant. In fact, it felt kind of... Nice. "Right?"

With a shiver, he felt the yellow and black fur running along his body faster, covering his skin in a thick coat, as he began to feel a deep ache running throughout his whole body.

"Ggghh..." He winced a little louder, his fingers aching as his fingernails slowly grew outwards, taking on a deep purple hue as they grew into large claws, the fur growing thicker around the base of his hands. His arms seemed to grow a little longer in response to this, the fur growing thicker at his elbows as the rest of them was covered in a light indigo fur.

He began to visibly shudder as electricity arced between his muscles, the dark lines running through his fur slowly started to fade to a pale purple, tufts of deep blue starting to emerge sporadically down his sides. His form appeared to be growing, his body slowly increasing in size as his hair changed color as well, to a shade similar to that of his fur, his face itching and burning as he felt it begin to shift into a rounder shape.

"Ghhhh...Vannnn..." He moaned, feeling his teeth growing into sharpened fangs as a pair of small, arm-like mandibles grew from his cheeks, the tips of them lined with a single purple claw, similar to those on his fingertips. His eyes grew a little larger, taking on a violet hue as they moved apart a little, four smaller eyes growing in-between them.

More of his fur was turning the violet shade, his chin shifting shade, and long purple fur along his back, poking out of the cloth of his shirt, growing more prominent as he continued to grow in size, his clothing growing tight against his form as his skin hardened into a material not unlike chitin. James called out in alarm, dumbfounded by the rapid changes. "P-Peter? A-are you alright?"

"I'm fine...I actually feel pretty good.....Galllll..." He growled a little, his shirt being slightly rended by his growing form and fur. He could feel his legs shift and crack a little as they began to undergo a change similar to his arms, thighs covered in indigo whereas the rest was covered in golden yellow, spikier around the knees and his feet as they too changed. Unlike his hands though, they fused together into a single digit, a thick purple claw tearing out of his shoes and socks.

Slowly, he began to feel a numb sensation at his sides, a deep piercing ache as a second pair of legs, almost identical to the first, emerged from his sides, sliding back somewhat to help provide stability as a pounding pressure built outward from behind him, forming a large, spidery abdomen, marked in golden yellow and pale violet, blue tufts running along its sides. James gasped, stepping back in surprise as the large spidery creature looked down at him.

"Gallllvantulaaa!" He cried out, the changes finishing as he let loose a massive burst of electricity into the air, striking the ground a few feet away. "Oh wow! That felt good!" He grinned, his eyes blinking in unison as he looked down at his friend. James couldn't find anything to say to him though, his jaw hanging down as he examined Peter's body. Where a six foot tall human stood a few minutes ago, a roughly eleven foot tall Galvantula-taur was standing, a fanged smirk across his face.

"I-it did?" He stumbled over his words as he tried to figure what to say. Slowly rising to his feet, he chuckled weakly. "So I, uh... I guess you could call this trip a success for you, then?" He shivered slightly as the Pokémon-creature grinned down at him. "Agh.... now I feel wierd.... Y-you don't think that...?"

"Yup...I think there's going to be one more of me going around." He chuckled, watching as James began to grow slightly, his shoes growing tighter as the toes fused together into a single digit, a thick purple claw emerging from the tip as yellow fur began to spread from his legs, thick and spiky around the feet and knees whilst indigo fur spread across his thighs, poking out through his trousers as they began to slightly tear.

"A-ah..... My feet?" He lifted his feet as he fell backward, clutching his ankles. "F-feels.... Feels kinda soft...." Slowly raising his hands away, he saw his fingers creaking and stretching, short purple talons inching away from the ends of his fingers as the fur spread up along his hands and wrists. "H-hands... VVantulllaaaa...."

"Doesn't it feel so?" Peter smiled, his friend's body growing a little more as a pair of bumps formed around his waist, a large pair of legs tearing through the front of his trousers, tipped with large claws. Deep purple fur grew along his lower chest and underside as he felt a building pressure in his rear, feeling it swell in size as it burst through the back of his trousers, two thick tufts of spiky purple-bluish fur growing from the sides of it as it formed into a large insect abdomen.

"V-vantulllaaaahhh!"Wincing, he struggled to his feet, teetering back and forth as he attempted to adjust to his new lower body, trying his best to keep his balance. "Ahh... F-Feel so.... G-galvantuuuu...."  As he spoke, electric energy began to arc and crackle around him, singing the ground around the pair. "M-my... Armmmtulllaaa...." His  limbs began to lengthen slightly, growing thinner and spidlier, as he experimented with the changing limbs, stretching and bending them.

His friend kept his eager eyes on him, watching as his body was now fully transformed, with the exception of his still-human head. That was to quickly change though as he felt it itch, the hairs growing over his face as his human hair altered, mixing in with the fur as his ears vanished into the sides of his head, leaving only small holes. He felt his head round out a little, jaws becoming slightly curving as his teeth grew into sharp fangs, mandibles emerging from his cheeks. To end it all, his eyes grew larger, turning a deep purple as four smaller ones grew in the space between his parting eyes.

"AH!" He winced, shaking his head rapidly as he adjusted to the additional points of view. "Gah.... Feels.... Dizzy." He clicked his mandibles together, grinning broadly as he stretched his changed form. "F-Feels..... Galll.... T-Tulaaa....." He lifted his arms, feeling the energy surging through his form. "You're right.... It... It does feel wonderful!"

Peter chuckled, moving closer to his friend as he placed a clawed hand on his shoulder. They were both pretty much the same size now, their heads poking up past the collapsed wall. "That it does, I have to admit." He smirked again, shooting out another bolt of electric against the wall for good measure. "I guess with all the Joltik and Galvantula hanging around this place, the gems must have picked up on their essence."

James grinned in response, shrugging slightly. "Perhaps.... But does it really matter how? I mean, it happened, and it feels great! Unless, of course, you're thinking that maybe we could try and reproduce the effect...." His grin became broader, his mandibles clicking against each other as his shuddered, sending electricity running throughout his body.

"Well in all honesty, it wouldn't hurt to find a couple of female partners and to bring some friends over...this place is full of gems, and we have a good load of them in our backpacks too!" Peter laughed. "Not to mention we could have some fun with it...I do know a friend or two who are deathly afraid of spiders, so it might provide a few laughs to mess with them." He winked, three of his eyes closing in unison.

Chuckling in response, James nodded. "But why would anyone be afraid of spiders? We had best go ahead and give them a visit. After we figure out how these gems work, I think. Probably all it would take is a little electricity through them....  If you know someone who you think would like to take a look at them, lead the way!" He scuttled over to the door, four legs moving in unison to the entrance of the power plant, beckoning his friend over to follow him.

"Well Sarah doesn't live too far from where I am, and she does like Bug-type Pokémon, so we can start with her." He smiled, clawed legs clicking against the ground as they walked out of the power plant and back into the sunlight. Now they were back in the light, they noticed that their vision had become more clearer, everything much more brighter to them.

"Sounds like a plan!" James smiled back, as the pair scurried nimbly over the rocks, heading down along the shore, back toward civilization, bearing many of the gems from the power plant with them. Soon, the power plant hummed with life again, a small group of Galvantula-like creatures maintaining it and its environment, heading back and forth to gather more gems, and as time passed, the number who went there steadily grew, as the population of the creatures continued to expand.
