A Special Present - Grovyle TF

It was the end of another long day for Dan as he got through the door. His work place had not granted him time off for the day, and it had left him a bit upset.

"You'd think they'd give me a break on my birthday of all days..." He sighed to himself and went to check the mail. Opening the letter box, he noticed a few random letters, cards...and a small package.

"Oh? What's this then?" He said, putting the other letters aside to check what he had been sent. According to the address on the letter, it had been sent by his friend Peter. He opened the box and saw a package inside.

"Wonder what he got me?" He smiled a little as he unwrapped the present. With the paper removed, he noticed two things: One was the DS version of the Bakugan game, and the other was a deckbox. And from the sounds of it, there were cards in there!

"Hrm..." He opened it. "It's rare that he gives me cards for free...has to be some catch." He pulled out some of the cards, and the smile on his face widened a little. It was a full deck of Pokémon cards, and it was built upon the Treecko evolution line. He browsed through some of the cards, finding them to be similar to the deck his friend had built around them. There was a small note in the back of the deckbox, which read:

"Heya Dan,

Hope you like your presents! I went on a booster pack spree and used the cards I got to build you a slight copy of my Forest Guardian's Fury deck. Sure it doesn't have Shaymin or it's LV X, but it's a powerful deck nonetheless, and I hope you put it to good use!

Also, don't worry about paying me back, i got the packs for cheap, I got like a whole box for £20 from a special shop.

"Wow, he made this up just for me..." He browsed through some of them, looking at one of the Groyvle cards in the deck, checking its stats and moves. "I'm so putting this to use..." He started when he noticed the card glowing a little, the light growing brighter, spreading around him. "Hey, what the hell?" He gasped as he was blinded for a few short seconds.

"What's going on?" He shouted out as the light subsided, leaving him a little dazed.

"Ok...that was nuts..." He said, putting the deck down on the table, rubbing his eyes.

He went over to the sofa and threw aside his coat. As he sat down, he noticed the skin on his arms looked like it was...flaking away or something.

"The hell..." He said, scratching his arms, noticing more flesh falling away...and underneath that, he noticed emerald green scales growing along his arms.

"THE HELL?!"

With the first of the scales revealed, they now started to spread like wildfire, growing up his arms and over his hands. His fingers grew a little longer as the nails broke off, long, hook-like talons growing from his fingertips as a trio of blade-like leaves grew from his wrists, a darker green in contrast to the scales on his arms. His arms grew a little broader, muscles growing larger as the scales reached his chest. Using his now clawed hands, he tore his shirt apart, noticing the growth of the scales.

"Am I..." He gasped as the scales that covered his chest grew broader, turning a deep red colour and forming hard scutes, covering his chest fully bar one green stripe around his waist, seperating the chest from his underside, where the scutes had covered his maleness. The muscles of his chest grew beneath the protective scutes as his build grew more muscled. He looked over at the table again and saw the cards, the Grovyle at the top of the deck.

"No way..." He grinned as he realised what he was turning into, noticing the difference in his form, a broad contrast from the creature printed on the card. His spine started to elongate a little as his body grew taller, his neck stretching a little bit as the changes progressed.

His trousers tore apart as his legs grew a little broader, almost haunch-like as his shoes burst open, his toes elongating, the digits fusing together, leaving him with only two toes on each foot, tipped off with the same deadly curved claws that adorned his hands, an additional claw growing from his heel. He flexed his toes a little against the ground, noticing them tear through the carpet and floorboard as if it were a hot knife through butter.

"I'll have to be a little more careful walking about now..." He chuckled

There was a slight pain at the base of his spine as he felt something grow down there. Instead of the usual tail you'd find on most creatures, a large pair of leaves, similar to the ones on his wrists, grew outwards. They were long and slender, and yet at the same time, sharp to the touch.

The final changes started to happen as the scales started to cover his head, the scutes forming over his lower jaw as it started to jut outwards, forming a reptilian maw. His nose sank into his upper jaw, nostrils flaring wide as they sat atop the front of his muzzle, the upper lip a little broader at the end than the rest of his jaws.

His hair fell away as the scales fully incased his head, a large leaf, almost the size of his body, making its way through the top of his skull, resting behind him. His teeth quickly grew into large fangs as new ones made their way through his gums to fill his new muzzle, his tongue growing a little longer and thicker. And to top it off, his eyes parted to the sides of his head, growing larger as they turned from a deep brown to a feral yellow that spread past his iris and covered the entire orb, the pupils pulling into slits.

For a few minutes, all Dan could do was stand there, looking over himself and his new form. Then those fangs of his pulled into a wide grin.

"AWESOME!" He grinned, leaping up from the floor and punching the air triumphantly...and also punching a hole in the ceiling above him as his haunches propelled him high from the ground.

"Hehe...oops.." He chuckled shyly, looking at the hole he made. "Guess I don't know my own strenght there."

He cleared up the mess he made, reminding himself to clean up the mess later. He was about to go online to send his friend a thank-you message as his mobile started ringing.

"Who's this now?" He said, picking up the phone in his claws and hitting the call button. "Hello?"

"Hey Dan, it's Peter. I trust you got the present?" Peter chuckled. "Did it surprise you?"

"Oh yeah, REALLY surprised me!" He laughed down the phone.

"That's good...cause I got something else that will surprise you..." He smirked to himself. "I'll see you very soon!" He said as he hung up. And as soon as Dan hung up, the flapping of wings...very large wings...could be heard outside.

"Always making a grand entrance..." Dan smirked as he went to open the door, getting his second surprise in the form of his friend, in the form of a morphic Salamence.

"Wow..." Dan whistled at his friend in awe as he let him in. "Where exactly did you get those cards from?" He asked Peter.

"Oh, just a shop down the road from where I live."

"You'll have to show me, I might need to get some for my friends." He smirked to Peter.

"Oh I'm sure I'll show you. But first..." He put a bag down, in which was his Wii.

"We never really got through to seeing who was better at Brawl, did we?" Peter grinned.
